Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park
This morning, you will depart Nairobi by road and proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park, regarded by avid birders’ as the greatest world ornithological spectacle on the earth. The park is famous for its millions of pink flamingoes lining on the lake shore, arriving mid-morning at Lake Nakuru for a game drive en-route before checking in at your lodge for lunch. A spectacular afternoon game run is planned.

The park is a sanctuary to the black rhino, white rhino, and the Rothschild’s giraffe. Birdlife includes common species like the lesser and greater flamingoes, African fish eagle, tawny eagle, green wood hoopoes, cliff chat, great white and pink-backed pelicans plus other intra-African migrants. Overnight will be at a budget hotel.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru National Park – Hell’s Gate National Park
You will drive through the bucolic countryside to Hell’s Gate in Navaisha. Your destination is Hell’s Gate National Park where you will arrive in time for lunch. A nature walk at Ol Njorowa Gorge is an excellent way to see wild animals while on foot or biking. Overnight will be at a budget hotel in Lake Naivasha.

Day 3: Lake Naivasha – Maasai Mara National Reserve
Depart Lake Naivasha for Maasai Mara National Reserve – the jewel of Kenya’s game parks. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration and is a true home of the Big Five – lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and Cape buffalo. Upon arrival, lunch will follow. After lunch, you will explore the reserve on a late evening ‘spice’ game drive. Dinner and overnight will be at a tented camp.

Day 4: Explore Maasai Mara National Reserve
The Maasai Mara is one of the greatest wildernesses in the world. Morning and afternoon ‘spice’ game drives are planned. Large mammals are varied, abundant and easy to see. Residents among the park’s mammals are Maasai giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, zebras, topis, and both the Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles. Hot air balloon rides are available on this day at an additional cost.

Day 5: Maasai Mara National Reserve – Nairobi
Pre-breakfast will be around 06:30 before the morning and last game drive until 09:00 when you will return to the camp for a full breakfast as you prepare for your journey back to Nairobi.
